Only original articles that have not previously been published in other periodicals are accepted for publishing in the magazine. By presenting their manuscript text, the authors guarantee: the absence of plagiarism and other forms of borrowed materials misuse, the correctness of references to all used materials, the authors’ details correctness.
Articles in Ukrainian, German and Russian are accepted for publication. When submitting an article in German or English, authors must concurrently submit an authentic translation into Ukrainian or Russian.
Nota bene: the article total volume should be 10 to 15 pages. For review and analytical articles, a slight increase in pages number is allowed.
To be accepted for publishing, the articles must contain the following necessary elements (of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine Presidium Resolution No. 7-05/1 dated of 15.01.03): general statement of the problem and its relation to important scientific or practical tasks; analysis of recent research and publications directing towards the problem’s solution and upon which the author relies, highlighting the general problem previously unresolved aspects addressed in the article; statement of this article goals (setting the task); main research material presentation with the obtained scientific results full substantiation; conclusions drawn and prospects for further research in this area.
1. Basic requirements for articles presentation:
The editorial board draws the authors’ attention to the following structural requirements as to the articles prepared:
The submitted article text should be typed using the MS Word text editor (“doc” file extension). That article reviewed and verified, the author must save its copy as “pdf” version in addition to the MS Word file. Both article versions (in *.doc and *.pdf formats) are sent to the editorial board.
All article elements shall be in a single style: TimesNewRoman font, 12 pt, single line spacing, paragraph margin – 1.25 cm.
Page options: “Other” format 17×26 cm; margins between the sheet edge and the text: top – 2.5 cm, bottom – 2.5 cm, left – 2.0 cm, right 2.0 cm.
The first page bottom should bear a text box that contains the copyright symbol “©” all authors’ names and initials and year. This frame format: text wrapping. Frame text font: TimesNewRoman, 12 pt.
Abbreviations and conventional symbols, in addition to the common ones, are used in exceptional cases: explain them when first used. Physical quantities and units of measurement should be given in SI system using international designations.
Manuscripts prepared without complying to the specified printing requirements shall be rejected. If the authors are not able to fulfill all the requirements for article’s structure, the submission of material produced in free form is allowed, subject to additional payment for works related to formatting.
2. Rules of articles structural elements composing
Each manuscript consists of the following structural elements:
– UDC;
– Initials and last name of the author (authors);
– Full name of the organization (-s) employing the authors;
– Article title in the language of publication;
– Abstract in the language of publication;
– keywords list in the language of publication;
– Article text
– References list.
These structural elements representation rules are as follows.
UDC: upper left corner, TimesNewRomanCyr font 12 pt – left aligned.
Authors (full name): TimesNewRomanCyr font 12 pt, left-aligned: surname and initials in the language of publication without indentation, left-aligned. Do not specify authors’ degree, position and academic rank. In front of each author’s surname, his employer organisation ordering number in the relevant list of institutions/organizations shall be given in uppercase font, for example, 1Ivanov A.A., 2Petrov I.I. If all authors are from the same organization do not put such a number.
The organization name is given in the next line after the authors list, without indentation, italics left-aligned. Please give the full official name of this article each author’s employer entity in the article language. Before the organization name put its ordering number in uppercase font. You may not specify such a number if all authors do work in the same organization. Each organization name is given in a new line. Next line after these institutions/organizations list shall be empty.
ARTICLE NAME: TimesNewRomanCyr 12 pt font, bold, capital letters, first line without indentation, single line spacing, center alignment. One blank line should be left after the article title.
Abstract written in the language of publication should fully reflect the article content and the main results of study. Abstract length: at least 30 words. Start with the word “Abstract”, TimesNewRoman font, 12 pt, bold italic, 1.25 cm indent left. After this word, point and space type the abstract text (TimesNewRoman font, 12 pt, italic). End the abstract with a point. Do not leave empty line after the abstract.
Keywords. In the next line after your abstract, list the keywords. Start it with “Keywords” in TimesNewRoman font, 12 pt, bold italic, 1.25 cm indent left. Further, after a colon and a space list 5-10 keywords separated by a comma (TimesNewRoman font, 12 pt, italic). Keywords should reflect the article main content, not repeating the title terms, but use those from the text as well as terms that define the subject area. The keyword list ends with a point. One blank line is inserted after Keywords section.
The main text is typed in TimesNewRomanCyr 12 pt, first line indent: 1.25 cm, alignment normal, line spacing: single.
The article can be structured: at that each section title appears in bold. Each structural element must have its header. All structural elements except the introduction and conclusions are numbered in Arabic numerals. If necessary, multi-level numbering is possible, limiting the levels quantity as no more than three.
Each table should have a number after which and a dash type its name ( TimesNewRomanCyr font 12 pt, left-aligned). Do not partition the table; table orientation: only portrait. When filling the table it is allowed to decrease the font up to 8 pt.
All formulas are introduced only using the built-in formula editor Microsoft Equation 3.0. Alternative option: interactive formula editor MathType. Other tools, including the updated Microsoft Word 2007 – 2019 embedded Formula Editor, are not allowed. Formula alignment: centered, formula numbering: on the right edge.
Illustrative material: created by machine graphics only (except for photos). Image resolution at least 150dpi, preferably 300dpi. Both drawings and photographs must be of a quality allowing to be printed in black and white. When color drawings and illustrations in the article, the authors shall submit to the editorial board the article’s identical version containing those drawings presented in black and white. All figures should be cross-referred with footnotes in the text numbered in Arabic numerals (1,2, …) in the order mentioned in the text. Illustrations should bear: the inscription “Figure”, its number and name (spaced with hyphen) placed under that figure. Inscriptions on the drawings shall be made in font size 12 … 8 pt. Lines thickness: never less than 0.5 pt. Drawings and photos should be inserted in the article’s text and additionally presented in separate files in the format * .tif, * .pcx. All figures are placed in the center of the page. Spacing before and after drawing: 6 pt.
References should be made in the order in which they appear in the text. The reference number in square brackets must follow the author’s statement, formulation or surname. References to literature sources are made in accordance with DSTU 8302: 2015 «Bibliographic references. General Terms and Conditions of Composing.” This list shall be entitled “References” (TimesNewRomanCyr 12 pt font, middle alignment). Text: font TimesNewRomanCyr 12 pt, first line indentation – 1.25 cm, alignment – bywidth, style – Normal, line spacing – single.
Nota bene: there are no punctuation at the end of the article title, author information, title titles, tables, signature, and references.
Additional elements of the article
Article additional elements are submitted in the same file as the main article.
Composition of additional elements to the article:
– Article title in English;
– authors initials and surnames in English;
– full name of the organization (-s) employing the authors, in English;
– extended English abstract version with keywords (at least 1800 characters);
– article title in Ukrainian;
– authors initials and surnames in Ukrainian;
– full name of the organization (-s) employing the authors, work in Ukrainian;
– extended abstract in Ukrainian with keywords (at least 1800 characters);
– Authors details.
