- Abstract

The article discusses the conditions for reliable operation of a quarry excavator and the reasons for the failure of the bucket teeth. The main factors that significantly affect tooth wear are described. The difference in the degree of wear of the upper and lower faces of the teeth is established. An analysis of the possible designs of the bucket teeth during excavation and loading of rock, the most promising design is proposed.
It is noted that it is not economically feasible to manufacture it entirely from a wear-resistant material. The work describes a method of increasing the durability of the working bodies of the ECG-5 using wear-resistant surfacing electric arc. It is possible to apply a wear-resistant layer on the working surface of the teeth using manual, semi-automatic and automatic surfacing. The advantages and disadvantages of each of the proposed methods of hardening are compared.
