Abstract
The results of theoretical studies stressed state of clamping elements for fixing steel ropes are presented in the article. The basis for calculating the strength of the clamping elements pins has been developed. The presented calculation models are constructed from the point of providing equal strength of the fingers for bending, twisting and stretching and a rope for cutting. Based on the ratios of the mechanical properties of the fixed rope and pin materials, were obtained graphs for the selection of finger sizes depending on the diameter of the fixed rope. The obtained compact recommendations make it possible to simplify considerably the construction of clamping mechanisms for fixing steel ropes.
