Abstract
The stationary phase method is used to analyze the dispersion effects that occur during the longitudinal stress pulses in the cranes ropes propagation. A cylindrical elastic rod model with a circular cross section is used, which takes into account (according to A. Lyav) the inertia of the rod transverse movements, which is better consistent with the three-dimensional elasticity theory. The obtained asymptotic solution of the corresponding wave equation for the deformation of the rod differs significantly from the solution obtained by elementary theory of this equation under the same initial and boundary conditions. The results obtained in this work can be used to refine and improve engineering methods for calculating the parameters that characterize the stress state of the crane ropes when lifting loads "with a pickup" / "from the base".
